Martello Property Services was formed in 1988. Previous to that time, Wayne Smithies, the President, worked with First City Development running a real estate management company for the Belzberg organization.
For the first 10 years, Martello Property Services operated under the trade style of CB Commercial and CB Richard Ellis Property Management. Wayne took the company private and established Martello Property Services Inc. as an operating entity in 1998. In British Columbia, Martello manages real estate in the Lower Mainland including Vancouver, Burnaby, Mission, Richmond, Coquitlam, North and West Vancouver. Martello manages properties on Vancouver Island in Victoria, Nanaimo, and Courtenay. In the interior, Martello manages real estate in Cranbrook. Martello’s portfolio exceeds 6 million square feet. Our clients include private commercial property owners, large retail clients, strata councils and strata developers. The Head Office for British Columbia is located in the heart of the financial district on the corner of Hastings and Howe, across from the historic Sinclair Centre. Our staff of 25 employees include a VP Finance (who is a Chartered Accountant), Controller, Assistant Controller and a staff of property administrators and accountants. The office can be easily reached by Sktytrain both from Burnaby and Richmond. We specialize in strip retail centres, mid size office buildings, industrial buildings and strata titled condominiums. Our managers are all seasoned professionals and fully licensed. They act as Portfolio Managers with full authority to deal on a one to one basis with the owner’s needs. We also provide an Operations department that is headed up by an Operations and Technical Service Manager to assist the property managers with technical issues in running the complex building systems that are in the marketplace today. |
